Loop & Saddle Stitching

Saddle stitching is a popular, fast and inexpensive way to make booklets — sheets are collated, folded over a saddle and stapled through the crease, with the outside fold forming the spine.

Suited to brochures, catalogues, newsletters, pamphlets and thin magazines. No minimum order, sizes from 120 × 90mm up to A4 landscape, foredge trimming included and silver staples as standard. Loop stitching adds wire loops so the booklet can be filed in a ring binder.

Design tips

  • Page counts must be multiples of four
  • Narrow documents avoid 'creep' (inner pages extending past the cover)
  • Maximum thickness ~2mm (about 58 pages on 80gsm)
  • Keep white space around text so nothing is lost in the fold
